I used to live in a room full of mirrors; all I could see was me. I take my spirit and I crash my mirrors, now the whole world is here for me to see.

Lou Reed - Walk on the wild side
Lou Reed, best known as guitarist, vocalist, and principal songwriter of “The Velvet Underground”, and for his successful solo career. This song is on his second album “Transformer”, produced by David Bowie.
Lou Reed was one of the regulars at Andy Warhol’s Factory and his music contributed to the atmosphere that he liked and needed to create his art.
The lyrics tell of a series of individuals and their journeys to NYC. Holly Woodlawn, Candy Darling, Joe Dallesandro (the most frequent actor in Warhols short films), Joe Campbell (Sugar Plum Fairy) and Jackie Curtis. Candy Darling was also the subject of Lou Reed’s song ‘Candy Says’.
This song is awesome and its just nice and simple. I love Lou’s voice and how he is kind of singing and just telling some stories.
