Life Through The Looking Glass

'But I don't want to go among mad people,' said Alice. 'Oh, you can't help that,' said the cat. 'We're all mad here.' 'How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
'You must be' said the Cat, 'or you wouldn't have come here.'

Lou Reed - Walk on the wild side

Lou Reed, best known as guitarist, vocalist, and principal songwriter of “The Velvet Underground”, and for his successful solo career. This song is on his second album “Transformer”, produced by David Bowie.

Lou Reed was one of the regulars at Andy Warhol’s Factory and his music contributed to the atmosphere that he liked and needed to create his art.

The lyrics tell of a series of individuals and their journeys to NYC. Holly Woodlawn, Candy Darling, Joe Dallesandro (the most frequent actor in Warhols short films), Joe Campbell (Sugar Plum Fairy) and Jackie Curtis. Candy Darling was also the subject of Lou Reed’s song ‘Candy Says’.

This song is awesome and its just nice and simple. I love Lou’s voice and how he is kind of singing and just telling some stories.
